Apostolic Support 2007
Dear Supporters and Friends of Arise,
It’s hard to believe that 2006 will soon be over. I look forward to 2007, for the simple reason that ‘7’ is the number of perfection or completion, and is always dear to God’s heart. God rested on the 7 th day. I feel that in this upcoming year, the more we know how to rest in God, the more we will be able to expand and enter into all He has for us.
Another reason 2007 is so special is it marks the 100-year anniversary of the great Korean revival that started in Pyongyang in 1907 (widely considered to be one of the most significant revivals of the 20 th century). Many of you know that last month I was able to go to North Korea to pray. One purpose for going was to bring that fire of revival back to Japan. It will be a long time before we know the full results of that trip, but I do know that God said He is opening the whole North Asia region of North Korea, North China, Far East Russia, and Japan.
We are all believing for revival. The true meaning of it simply means, “Jesus visits us and pours out new wine.” In order to contain new wine, there must first be new wineskins. This means we must let God change our hearts, our ministries, and our churches in whatever ways He wants so that that He can pour in the new wine. This is my prayer for each one of you; that you will be able to keep changing to receive all the new wine of revival.
A very special thanks to $1000 Supporters (Apostolic Fund):
So many of you have prayed for the work of Arise, as well as supported us financially by giving $1000 for the year 2006. (God put this on my heart about one year ago, so I finally began asking people to make this kind of pledge.) Many of you gave more than that. There are supporters in Korea, Japan, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Taiwan. This support enabled us to greatly expand the scope of our operations and to do many new things. Below is a list of some of the projects the Apostolic Fund helped finance:
- Establishing an apostolic-prophetic training school in Korea
- The launch of Japan Alive (a movement to affect youth in Japan)
- Creating a prophetic training school in Sapporo, Japan
- Opening an office in Taiwan
- Purchasing equipment for TV (camera)
Additionally, one of the most important things about the Apostolic Fund is that it helps pay for ministry trips to poorer nations; not only for my own travel and expenses, but for team members as well. There is so much more I wish we could do. We need to press ahead in publications and mass media. We also need to establish a bona fide office in Far East Russia, as well as in China. China? Someone in China, in an official position actually, invited me to set up a Arise office to be a center for training. I don't know if and when we will do it, but more and more opportunities are appearing.
As I look ahead to 2007, I am asking the Lord for the equivalent of 300 who will support this fund. I am believing for 100 from Korea, 100 from Japan, and 100 from the other nations (USA, Canada, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia).
Thanks for your prayers and your support. I’m excited to see what God’s going to do in 2007.
